Jacob with His New Nikon D3100

Howdy. Welcome to my little place on the internet. This blog is a place for me share my passions: photography and astronomy. I am constantly learning more about each. When you combine them, you get astrophotography. In photography, it’s mainly small photoshoots for people I know and for family, and nature photography. I love astrophotography, too. I was a highly commended in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Competition 2012 (-16 category). Here’s a list of equipment that I use:

For my photography:

Nikon D3100 for my photography. It’s nothing special, with only a 18-55mm lens.

And for my Astronomy/Astrophotography:

I have an Orion AstroView 6, a 6 inch F/5 Newtonian telescope on manual German Equatorial mount purchased in 2011.

I also (recently acquired) use a Celestron C9.25/CGEM, a 9.25 inch F/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope on a CGEM German EQ, purchased used in 2013. Will be using this for most of my astrophotos.

Find me on Flickr, 500px.

Thank you for visiting and reading my blog!

  3. Congratulations Marchio Men! You rock getting through 6 Mile Falls and placing 3rd. Gab’s expression is priceless as he entered the raging whitewater- Gab’s Gap (mouth that is). Love the raised paddle when through the worst of it too! Too bad you chose the wrong shoot at Grocery Cart, it cost you second place. But, hey, rookies placing is awesome!!!!

    • Thanks, I passed it on. It was a lot of fun to watch. They were a bit down after their spill, but they recovered quickly. Rookies placing is awesome, agreed!
